Enhance Your Vision With Our Customized IOLs

An intraocular lens (IOL) helps restore the vision of cataract patients. During your cataract surgery, Dr. Steven Chander can take measurements to determine the best IOL for you. We offer self-focusing, single-vision, and monofocal IOLs to help patients reduce or eliminate their need for corrective lenses following cataract surgery.

Covering the Cost of Cataract Surgery

Since cataract surgery is a medically necessary procedure that prevents vision loss, there are various ways for you to get partial or complete coverage for their care. Our team will check your insurance and Medicare plan to find out if you are responsible for any out-of-pocket costs before you commit to surgery. We will also file all insurance claims for you, discuss financing options, and explain the other payment options that are available.

We accept insurance from most providers, including VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you have another provider, contact us to find out if your insurance plan is accepted at our practice.

Medicare covers the cost of cataract surgery for patients aged 65 and older. However, you may still be responsible for some out-of-pocket costs depending on your treatment plan. We will discuss any costs you may incur before you agree to surgery.

In cases in which insurance and Medicare don't cover the full cost of cataract surgery or the IOL you wish to have placed, you can apply for CareCredit® financing online to break up the extra expense into affordable monthly payments.

Other Payment Options

We also accept traditional payment types, including MasterCard®, Visa, Discover®, cash, check, and money order for your convenience.

About Our Intraocular Lenses

We are committed to providing the latest technologies to help our patients correct cataract-affected vision. This is why we provide a selection of today's most advanced intraocular lens products.

The Crystalens IOL flexes similarly to the natural lens of the eye, providing greatly enhanced focusing abilities at a range of distances. The Crystalens IOL offers excellent accommodation abilities. Accommodation refers to the ability to focus on objects at near and far distances. Our eyes perform this task by bending and flexing the lens of the eye to focus light as needed. With the help of the eye's ciliary muscles, the Crystalens IOL can bend and flex in much the same way, helping to improve accommodation abilities.

Like other IOLs, ReSTOR lenses are used to replace the clouded cataract lens of the eye. Unlike other IOLs, the ReSTOR lens uses a series of tiered steps to help patients focus at a variety of distances. The ReSTOR IOL has a thin outer layer and a thicker layer at the center of the lens. In between is a series of layers of varying thicknesses, each of which helps provide the ability to focus at different distances. This technology helps to correct the clouding associated with cataracts and reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses.

The ReZoom intraocular lens is an excellent treatment option for those suffering from presbyopia. Like other IOLs, ReZoom is also used for patients with cataracts. The ReZoom lens incorporates multiple focal points to help patients see objects far away and very close up. ReZoom intraocular lenses allow us to correct cataract-affected vision, improve focusing ability in presbyopic patients, and reduce the need for reading glasses.
